The New Jersey BRN participants can use the secure system to improve the management and quality of their resource information. For Person Info, the automatic update function will reduce the time spent to maintain accurate contacts, skills and certifications. The Org and Asset Info Centers will document location and other key information related to shelters, facilities, vehicles, equipment and critical supplies. The communications function of the system will enhance the ability to notify member organizations during exercises and disasters of needed resources, as well as for those members to communicate with their employee and volunteer resources.

As more BRN members join and share their information with authorized organizations, more information will be accessible within the group. This will dramatically increase information related to key contacts with other organizations and personnel, while further reducing the amount of information to be maintained by each individual organization. As the depth of member information is added to the system, long-term benefits will include locating key support organizations, finding personnel by skills, training and documented credentials, providing information on critical and essential personnel, maintaining condition and inspection records for vehicles and equipment and many other capabilities.
